CyberCloud Full Encrypted Enclave for CUI and CMMC Level 2: An Executive Briefing

Prev Next
A secure encrypted cloud data enclave concept

An executive briefing for the Board, the C-Suite, and Owners.

Audience: CEO, CFO, CSO/CISO, Owners, and Board Members

Author: Northern Data Solutions, Office of the CTO

Service Line: Cyberwatch Advanced — Proactive Advanced Security: Full Encrypted Enclave for Controlled Unclassified Information

"You cannot bolt CMMC compliance onto a general-purpose network and hope it holds under audit. The fastest, most defensible path to Level 2 is to move your Controlled Unclassified Information into a purpose-built, pre-hardened enclave — where the hard controls are already inherited, not reinvented."

1. Executive Summary

CyberCloud — Encrypted Enclave Architecture & Data Flow Source Users, endpoints & remote workforce CyberCloud Enclave •  Identity + MFA gated access •  Isolated compliant boundary •  Encryption at rest & in transit •  Continuous monitoring & logging Protected Outcome CUI processed, stored & transmitted inside a compliant enclave Frameworks supported:  CMMC L1/L2  ·  NIST SP 800-171  ·  PCI DSS v4.0  ·  FTC Safeguards  ·  CIS Controls

For any organization in the Defense Industrial Base, the central challenge of CMMC is scope. Trying to make an entire corporate network handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) to NIST SP 800-171 standards is slow, expensive, and fragile — every laptop, mailbox, and file share becomes part of the assessment boundary. A single misconfigured endpoint can sink the audit.

CyberCloud is Northern Data Solutions' Full Encrypted Enclave: a dedicated, pre-hardened cloud environment purpose-built to store, process, and transmit CUI in alignment with CMMC 2.0 Level 2, NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 252.204-7012, and ITAR data-handling expectations. By concentrating CUI inside the enclave, you dramatically shrink your assessment scope, inherit a large body of already-implemented controls, and keep regulated data isolated from your everyday business network.

2. The Business Problem

DoD prime contractors are flowing CMMC requirements down to their supply chain, and "self-attestation" is being replaced by third-party certified assessments. For most subcontractors, the question is no longer whether to comply but how to do so without rebuilding their entire IT estate.

7. The Bottom Line

CMMC certification is fast becoming the price of admission to defense contracting. The organizations that get there quickly and defensibly are the ones that stop treating their whole network as the compliance boundary and instead move regulated data into a purpose-built enclave. CyberCloud gives you that enclave — encrypted, isolated, and pre-hardened — so you inherit controls instead of reinventing them, protect your contract revenue, and keep CUI out of harm's way.
